Jewish museum of siena
The former women’s mechitza, on two levels, overlooks the heart of the Synagogue and currently hosts the Jewish Museum.
Protected by a wooden latticework grate with floral motifs, it is an inviting and highly atmospheric site. No longer in use for religious purposes, it complements the tour of the Synagogue and hosts a collection of texts, images, prayer books and items illustrating the most significant moments in the long history of Siena’s Jewish community.
